Since 2021 I've been responsible for producing, editing, finalizing, making thumbnails, writing copy, generating clips, and appearing on Noclip's recurring podcast series, most recently named the Noclip Crewcast.
While there have been many versions of it, the most frequent has been this one where we share our thoughts on recent games, discuss Noclip's various projects, and just generally have fun! The episodes are released every week on Friday @ midnight, and outside of a few exceptions, we've hit that target every single week since we started this regular format in late 2022!
Part of my work on the series includes editing the recordings (running post-production on hour of audio, including cleanup), and finding fun ways to elevate the video version while minimizing interruptions and points of friction. Basically, I try to cut out when we're all making Dad noises.
The best part of this process is being able to highlight new and upcoming releases, as well as older games that didn't quite get their chance to shine. Noclip's got a pretty solid reach, and being able to use that to spread some good around the industry is something I'm really proud of.
On top of that, we've also conducted some interviews on the show with developers of great games like 1000xResist. It was an honour to talk to such talented people about their process.
Producing a regular podcast with a separately produced audio and video version, sometimes pushing the 2.5 - 3 hour mark, every single week with roughly one day of lead time has been an exercise in managing and organizing my time efficiently. Finding new windows where I can be rendering the video while preparing the audio, downloading the files while writing the copy for descriptions, or even inserting gameplay footage for specific references of games in a timely fashion while reviewing the levels has given me a greater confidence in my multi-tasking abilities.
